This position will be responsible for:
o Management and coordination of installations and de-installations with gallery Director
o Responsible for handling, crating (including building crates), packing,
and transportation of artwork
o Liaison with transportation companies, hardware and other
manufacturers for components of artwork
o Supervise temporary crew members
o Work directly with artists on site-specific installations
o Assistance with various aspects of gallery operations as required by
gallery Director
Required Skills:
o A minimum of five years of experience of managing a team of preparators at an art gallery or museum
o Must be experienced and conscientious about handling artwork of a variety of media
o Degree in the arts required (MFA preferred)
o Proficient in Mac computer programs
o Professional appearance and demeanor
o Strong organizational and delegating skills are a must
o Must have a vehicle and current California driver’s license in good standing
Salary commensurate with experience.
