Trained as an architect, Ann’s focus for the last twenty years has been creating museum exhibitions and enhancing the greater visitor experience. Ann began her museum work in 1996 as one of the first hires in the newly created exhibition design department at the J. Paul Getty Museum. Working closely with the curatorial, education, preparation and conservation departments, she created special exhibitions and standards for rotating and permanent displays, at both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. Ann was an integral part of the team responsible for renovation of the Getty Villa, including the new gallery design, collection interpretation, and design and production of the new casework system. In 2007, Ann accepted a position as Director of Exhibitions at the Autry National Center, where she oversaw both the design and preparations departments. In 2010, she became a partner with ELY, Inc., a fine art services company, where she continued her design work for both public and private clients. For the last four years, Ann has headed her own firm, Annex Design Services, where she and a trusted team of creative professionals collaborate to provide exemplary exhibition design and strategic planning services to a wide variety of museums and institutions.
