Characteristics
One of series of barrier films made and continuously tested to meet stringent military specifications (MIL-PRF-131K), it made of a layer of aluminum foil sandwiched between layers of transparent nylon and heat-sealable polyethylene (360 type). Resists the passage of vapors, gasses and pollutants. Alternate varieties of Marvelseal® combine aluminum and polyethylene layers with polypropylene (470 type),

Applications
Excellent for lining transport crates to minimize offgassing of wood products esp. when objects will be stored in them for long periods of time. 360 type easily welds to itself and other hard surfaces like plywood by the application of heat. Custom bags can also be made to completely encapsulate an object for humidity-controlled storage or shipping, or to create a sealed framing package. Sometimes used in combination with Aclar® for anoxic pest treatment. Commonly used as a barrier between display case materials and the object environment and to seal wood products used in storage settings.
