Contractor - SI National Air and Space Museum -Medium Artifact Rehousing Project

A contract position is available beginning September 1, 2014 with the National Air and Space Museum at the Paul E. Garber Facility in Suitland, MD. The contractor will be a member of a four person Medium Artifact Team that is responsible for the rehousing and preparation for shipment of highly significant medium sized artifacts from the National Collections. Medium Sized Artifacts include but are not limited to aircraft engines, satellite components, capsule hatches, wind tunnel models, and trophies. Rehousing includes removing artifacts from existing wooden and other containers and securing them with appropriate supports onto aluminum pallets. The artifacts will be relocated by NASM Staff to the new storage facility, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, in Chantilly, VA.
