Designing purpose built Prep workshops

Hello everyone, We're a medium sized History Museum located in the center of the French Quarter. We've recently acquired new property that will be converted into our workshops and I'm looking for design suggestions, problems with solutions, and pitfalls to avoid. We'll have a dedicated frame studio / clean room, a dedicated wood shop, possibly a small metal fab shop, a construction space, and our offices. The building is currently gutted and is a large open rectangle. We'll be looking at somewhere around 3500 sq feet once finished.
