ROLE:
Reporting to the Museum Relocation Site Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for planning activities, directing and coordinating a team of art/artifact handlers during all move activities of a major museum relocation project over several years. The Supervisor will also supervise and coordinate activities and workflow with collections managers and teams of subcontractors working with Artex. The Team Supervisor will ensure that project tasks are completed in a manner that is safe, efficient, and meets project deadlines.

Duties and responsibilities for the position include:
· Attending meetings to coordinate activities and clarify expectations and responsibilities between team members and subcontractors.
· Supervising and coordinating relocation activities of small, medium and large artifacts in museum galleries as well as transportation activity with Site Supervisor, client, other Team Supervisors, subcontractors, and Artex team members.
· Safely operating forklifts and aerial lift equipment.
· Effectively delegating tasks and activities among Artex team members.
· Supervising the installation and deinstallation of protective material over large artifacts prior to, and following, demolition activity.
· Tracking and monitoring progress for each task schedule to ensure all project deliverables are achieved within agreed upon parameters.
· Proactively flagging change orders.
· Track and approve hours worked each day by art/artifact handlers under the Supervisor.
· Ensure that move activity is executed is a safe and efficient manner within schedule and budget parameters.

Required
· Bachelor’s degree in studio art, architecture, museum studies or art related field preferred; High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience handling, working with, assembling, disassembling, packing and moving 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional works of art and artifacts which are part of an AAM accredited museum’s collection.

· Strong organizational, analytical, verbal & writing skills
· Demonstrated subject matter expertise using Excel and Word
· Must have the ability to work flexible schedules.
· Must have the ability to work at heights up to 75 feet.

Preferred Skills and Experience
· Forklift Certification
· Aerial Lift Certification
· Rigging Experience
· OSHA 30 Hour Training
