The University of Dayton Department of Visual Arts seeks to hire a
Fine Arts Studio Technician and Gallery Coordinator.

The Fine Arts Technician and Gallery Coordinator is primarily responsible for maintaining visual arts studios, which include sculpture, drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, 2-D and 3-D design, wood shop and welding areas, as well as coordinating the operations of the Department of Visual Arts’ Gallery 249. This is a 35-hour per week staff position with full benefits.

A Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art and three years experience working in an arts-related field is required. Knowledge of tools, techniques and safety guidelines relevant to the day-to-day operations of Fine Arts studios is required. Knowledge of gallery operations including publicity, installation of exhibitions, and management of student workers is preferred.

Experience in coordinating projects, managing multiple tasks, problem solving related to general maintenance and repair, and attention to detail is preferred. The successful candidate will be able to orient faculty, staff and students in the use of all relevant equipment located in the sculpture, woodshop, welding, ceramics and printmaking studios. The successful candidate will possess strong written and oral communications skills.
