The Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library in Winterthur, Delaware is seeking applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Associate (or Assistant) Registrar for Exhibitions and Loans.

Description
Winterthur’s Associate (or Assistant) Registrar for Loans and Exhibitions is an integral member of the Registration Department and is responsible for museum registration tasks related to outgoing loans, onsite exhibitions and related incoming loans, and traveling exhibitions. This position requires experience in registration responsibilities for museum loans and exhibitions, including a solid understanding of policies, procedures, and relevant legal requirements; packing and shipment (domestic and international) of museum objects; fine arts risk management; budgeting for museum exhibitions; and courier requirements. This position interacts with private lenders; external museum colleagues; and outside packing, shipping, insurance, and customs agents. The Associate/Assistant Registrar for Loans and Exhibitions works closely with staff of other Winterthur departments, including Conservation, Exhibitions, Security, and Collections.

Eligibility
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in art history, history, or related discipline. Three-plus years of museum-related experience, with one or more of those years in a registration or collections management position with an emphasis on loans and exhibitions.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in museum studies or related discipline with a museum studies certificate. Five-plus years of museum-related experience, with four or more of those years in a registration or collections management position with an emphasis on loans and exhibitions. Experience managing international loans and exhibitions. Experience working with decorative arts collections.
