The Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, Washington is hiring a Collections Manager to be responsible for managing and maintaining the Collection’s artifacts, archives, library and digital assets, and documenting materials in off-site storage under the direction of the Military Aviation Curator. The Collections Manager brings a necessary level of professional attention and rigor to managing assets of FHC, Vulcan Warbirds and Friends of Flying Heritage. Responsibilities include the physical organization, cataloguing and conservation of artifacts, books, archives and digital resources related to the collection (e.g., photographs, scanned documents etc.).
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and 3 plus years relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of curatorial and archival practices, procedures and equipment.
Experience in managing/assisting in the management of, a museum collection.
Extreme professionalism and excellent communication skills.
The ability to be resourceful in situations where only limited standardization exists.
