Crew Chief: Art Handler
UOVO Fine Art Storage
A successful and rapidly growing art storage company seeks a full-time Crew Chief to support and supervise art handlers in day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience working in New York City, storage/collection management experience, and will be comfortable installing, packing and moving a wide range of art objects. The Crew Chief will report to the Operations Department.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Supervise team of art handlers daily activities and art handling
· Work in conjunction with Technical Services Coordinator to help train art handling staff on best practices.
· Install / de-install artworks for private viewings
· Conduct site visits and lead teams on offsite installations and de-installations
· Assist in designing and maintaining storage rooms according to client requests, space and safety
· Pack artworks for transportation and storage
· Receive and release shipments on behalf of clients
Qualifications & Skills:
· Team Player, able to work in a dynamic environment
· Comfortable in a results driven workplace
· 5-7 years of logistical and art handling experience
· Experience interacting with art professionals
· Demonstrated leadership ability
· Excellent communication and multitasking skills
