The Collections Manager & Registrar is a full-time exempt position held by an individual with collections care experience to handle the management and registration duties of a growing academic museum collection and dynamic exhibitions program at a 2 ½-year old museum at Kenyon College, a highly selective rural liberal arts college campus. He or she will oversee the care and logistics of the collection and temporary domestic and international loans including shipping, insurance, storage, and, with Gallery staff and consulting preparators and installations for a 6,000 square foot exhibition space. The Collections Manager & Registrar will be required to assist, when appropriate, with educational programs and activities for Kenyon students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and the regional community in coordination with the Curator of Academic Programs and Director. He or she will be responsible for some grant writing and grant management, and shared day-to-day operations and office routines, in addition to research and writing related to projects developed under his or her direction and in coordination with the Director and other staff. The Collections Manager & Registrar must support the Assistant Director in managing some aspects of the Gund Associates (intern) program. The Collections Manager & Registrar will help administer the Gallery’s curatorial mission and vision, and its policies and protocols. In addition, he or she must have an understanding of College policies, procedures and programs related to the Gallery, as an administrative unit of the College. The Collections Manager & Registrar is supervised by the Director.

Job Requirements
MA in museum studies or related field and 5 years of relevant collections experience required. Computer literate, with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Filemaker Pro, web programs, social media, and other digital technologies. Experience with collections management databases required. Strong organizational and detail skills necessary. Knowledge of public and donor relations preferred. Ability to handle and balance substantial research and administrative detail and a wide variety of related tasks; to communicate and deal effectively with people; and to take initiative and to work with minimal supervision essential. Must have familiarity working with a variety of objects and experience working with modern and contemporary art appreciated.
