Position Summary: Act as a key member in an Exhibitions Department that curates and organizes two major loan shows per annum with at least one of these based upon international loans. Oversee all logistical aspects of implementing both in-house and traveling exhibitions. Manage all practical matters pertaining to exhibition organization, including working with museum representatives and a host of outside companies to ensure the safe transportation, installation, and de-installation of ISAW's annual loan shows. With the Exhibitions Director, the Registrar will work with the NYU Office of Legal Counsel and Risk Management Departments to secure all necessary legal and insurance documents for individual exhibitions. Prepare drafts of exhibition contracts and letters of agreement and advise Exhibitions Director on areas of these documents that pertain to exhibition registration. Prepare and manage budgets relating to the transportation, installation and deinstallation of exhibitions and will work directly with international shipping and customs agents to negotiate solid shipping and transportation rates as well as to ensure timely delivery of objects. Oversee all practical matters for traveling exhibitions conceived by ISAW. Maintain and update loan forms, condition report forms, and written operating procedures provided by lender(s). Maintain archive of loan forms, insurance agreements, and tour venue facility reports. Travel to venues to oversee installation and de-installation of exhibitions. Approximately 15-20% of the year will be spent traveling.

Qualifications/Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies or art-related field.

Preferred Education: Master's degree in Museum Studies or art-related field preferred.

Required Experience: 5-7 years experience in a comparable institution.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be diplomatic, organized, detail-oriented, and a problem-solver. Must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting. Facility with computers (Mac-based, Excel, Filemaker-pro, Word).
