The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Collections Management department seeks qualified candidates for two Art Handler positions. The Art Handler performs all related services necessary for the installation of its galleries and special exhibitions as well as the maintenance of the galleries and storage areas. This individual will prepare gallery spaces for installation and de-installation including packing/unpacking artwork, transporting artwork in-house between various museum departments and loads/unloads departmental supplies.
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and one to two years of related experience. Knowledge or training in basic carpentry, crate-making, art handling and framing is also required. A valid drivers’ license is required as is the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Basic understanding of art media and materials is preferred.
