Position Title: Museum Collections Data Entry Person
Position Available: Part-Time, Project-Based
Office/Location: Wellfleet (MA) Historical Society and Museum (www.wellfleethistoricalsociety.org (http://www.wellfleethistoricalsociety.org/))
Closing Date: January 16, 2015
Salary: $ 20/hour
Proposed Starting Date: January 26, 2015
End date: mid-March, 2015 (with the possibility of ongoing future projects)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Wellfleet Historical Society and Museum (WHSM) is seeking a data entry person for a part-time, project-based position with the sole responsibility to input descriptive information and digital images for 1,000 photographs into a PastPerfect database.
Candidates must have strong computer skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to do repetitive tasks, an interest in local Wellfleet/Cape history and the ability to quickly learn the PastPerfect software. The ideal candidate would have education or experience in Museum Collections Management and Registrationswork and prior experience with PastPerfect. Reporting to the Project Manager and the Collections Management Committee, he/she would be expected to catalogue twenty photographs/hour.
The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, collaborative and able to work independently. The WHSM prefers a candidate willing to work intensely to complete this project within six weeks.
