Job Description
TITLE: Art Handler
REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
· 3+ years of fine art handling, packing and moving
Seasoned, skilled expert in all aspects of fine art handling, packing, transportation, & storage
Advanced crating & storage knowledge; ability to understand the unique vulnerabilities of the art or object
Must have proven ability to work with team, clients & maintain confidentiality at all times
Skilled in accident prevention techniques
· Art Handler professional education and/or art handling certifications preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Proper handling of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and high end furniture using the appropriate methods for packaging, loading & securing for safe transport.
· Preparation of paperwork, including bills of lading, labeling, driver logs, and detailed condition reports with accompanying photos if necessary
· Receive and release shipments into warehouse facilities
· Load/ unload truck for safe transportation and storage
· Pack artworks for transportation and storage
· Install / de-install artworks for private viewings or offsite installations
