Job Description Summary/Essential Duties:
Provide support for planning, arranging, procuring and securing art work for colleges and external exhibitions. Select and procure art work from students and professional artist for exhibition. Participates in the development of materials to publicize the event or activities surrounding the exhibition. Provides assistance in preparing correspondence and makes arrangements with facilities to prepare for event. Assists in the prepping walls, lighting artwork, hanging art, and numbering art works in exhibit. Maintains inventory and tracking of art displayed at exhibits. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher plus 2 years of experience in a gallery setting or high school with course work in art or art education plus 4 years of experience in a gallery setting. Ability to utilize computer technology to maintain records, generate reports and communicate with others. Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Proven effective customer service experience. Official transcripts will be required.

Position Specific Qualifications:
- Works collaboratively with the MVC full time Art Faculty to support instruction through gallery programming.- Prepares and confirms a diverse exhibition schedule for the Kiva and Cliff Galleries each academic year, with student exhibition formats and participation determined by MVC full time Art Faculty.
- Physically installs all Kiva and Cliff Gallery shows, student and professional, including but not limited to: packing unpacking art, transporting and lifting up to 50 lb., hanging work, climbing ladders for lighting shows, prepping and painting gallery walls and arranging for security if needed.
- Arranges facilities support, equipment and refreshments for all Kiva and Cliff Gallery receptions.
- Coordinates the details of all Kiva and Cliff Gallery exhibitions with faculty, students, staff and the larger community; develops materials to publicize all Kiva and Cliff Gallery exhibitions and activities surrounding them.
- Develops and maintains processes and procedures related to the care and installation, accession and de-accession of the permanent art collection in consultation with MVC full time Art Faculty.
- Supervises part-time and student gallery workers.
- Produces and implements instrument of evaluation to measure the effectiveness of gallery programming related to students, staff and larger community.

Physical Demands:
Work with moderately heavy lifting, approximately 50 pounds.
