Handles works of art and historical objects, which includesmount making, matting and framing, moving and installing fragile and heavyobjects. Must be able to unload and arrange for pickup of incoming and outgoingexhibits. Works as a team with the staff, as well as independently, to developart and historical exhibit concepts and objectives, exhibit design andlong-range planning. Installs changing art and history exhibits; performsneeded maintenance and modifications on all exhibits; prepares exhibit areaswith paint, temporary walls, and lighting. Installs technical interactiveexhibit features. Prepares cost estimates, draws up exhibit designs, selectsappropriate materials and fabricates in-house exhibits including crates,pedestals and walls. Oversees the shop area which includes inventorying andpurchasing supplies and maintaining the shop, tools and equipment. Coordinateswith Curators to schedule pick-up and delivery of incoming and outgoingexhibits; works with Registrar on condition reports; visually documentsexhibits. Prepares, coordinates and installs interior and exterior signage andgraphics.
