ASSISTANT REGISTRAR

The Cleveland Museum of Art is currently seeking an Assistant Registrar who will provide assistance to the Director of Collections Management in keeping track of all objects within the collection and those coming into and going out of the museum. The Assistant Registrar is responsible for the CMA’s permanent collections, as well as for long-term loans, and deposits for acquisition consideration.

MIMINUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and preferably an MA in Art History or Museum Studies; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employee should have a valid driver’s license, possess good organizational, interpersonal, typing, and research skills. As well as the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and work on several different projects simultaneously as needed. Prior knowledge of art history and experience in handling art is helpful.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, and peripheral vision.


HOURS OF WORK: Monday – Friday; 35 hours per week
