Smithsonian Exhibits, the Smithsonian's full-service design and production unit, seeks a cost estimator. The incumbent will work with design and production staff to develop cost estimates for a variety of work and throughout the life of a project.
In addition to a solid understanding of materials and methods and their associated costs, the job requires a high degree of communication, organization and teamwork.
This is a permanent Trust position.
Requirements• Prepares detailed cost estimates for all phases of exhibit design and production of museum exhibitions
• Works with project teams throughout the design and production phases to update and maintain progressively detailed cost estimates
• Assists in the specification, sourcing and/or purchasing of products, materials, services and/or vendors
