Worcester Art Museum seeks applicants for a full-time Assistant Registrar to manage all aspects of its incoming and outgoing loans programs. With involvement in the loans process from start to finish, the Assistant Registrar will coordinate internal loans approval, prepare and maintain loan agreements, as well as coordinate and oversee all aspects of the transportation of works of art to and from the museum for loans and exhibitions, including the organizing of packing, shipping, couriers, security, insurance, and condition reporting. The Assistant Registrar will be responsible for preparing and managing budgets pertaining to loans, in addition to creating and maintaining records, the issuance of receipts, forms and other documents relating to loans. As well as managing the loans process, the Assistant Registrar will also work with the Chief Registrar and the Associate Registrar to support curatorial, education and public programs in the museum.

The successful candidate will have at least two years' experience in a loans or exhibitions registration position, together with a B.A/B.S. degree in Museum Studies, Art History, or related field. Experience of using collection management systems, TMS preferred, is essential, along with the ability to handle works of art, to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and to work to strict deadlines, plus excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, the ability to see full range of color accurately and good interpersonal skills are required.
