COLLECTIONS ASSISTANT (MOVE), MIT Museum (MITM)- Seeks a collections team (multiple openings for one-year term positions (part-time, 30 hrs/wk, $21.72/hr with benefits), to pack and move museum collections as part of MITMÂ’s efforts to move to its new location and later relocate most if its collections to a new off-campus facility. Will use knowledge of accepted museum standards and work with conventional collections information management systems to assure the long-term care and preservation of a broad range of diverse objects and materials. Principle duties and responsibilities include handling, rehousing, packing, and crating artifacts using approved methods and materials. Build custom boxes, mounts, pallets or other supports for artifacts. Assist the inventory team with photography and light cleaning of objects. Will report to the collections manager.
