EXHIBITIONS COORDINATOR

Full-time, in-person, $50-$52k yearly
REPORTS TO: Exhibition Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW: Primarily participates in all aspects of installing and removing exhibitions across 3 campus galleries with co-exhibitions coordinator. Reports to Exhibitions Manager in daily operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
[*=left]Support exhibition manager to plan, organize, execute installation and removal of exhibitions
[*=left]Provide technical support, for exhibiting students, artists and curators
[*=left]Maintain a cooperative working relationship with department chairs, students and curators
[*=left]Supervise freelance art handlers and student assistants working on exhibitions, ensuring their safety
[*=left]Maintain orderly storage facilities, with adequate inventory of supplies and equipment
[*=left]Construct walls and other structures as needed for exhibitions
[*=left]Produce CAD-generated drawings and renderings of exhibition designs
[*=left]Help coordinate production of signage and wall text for exhibitions
[*=left]Staff opening receptions and other after-hours events at galleries
[*=left]Install and staff off-site exhibitions as needed
[*=left]Maintain professional appearance of galleries and exhibition within them
[*=left]Sustain an eagerness to learn about latest exhibition standards, tools, and equipment
QUALIFICATIONS:
[*=left]Minimum two years experience installing exhibitions (carpentry, construction, lighting and art handling)
[*=left]Bachelor’s degree in related field; working knowledge of contemporary arts preferred
[*=left]Proficiency in SketchUp, Photoshop, Google Suite and MS Office programs
[*=left]Working knowledge of production and presentation of AV and digital media artworks
[*=left]Familiarity with exhibition design and gallery administration
[*=left]Understanding of safe, basic rigging techniques.
[*=left]Ability to perform repetitive physical activities such as bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, balancing, and handling of materials. This is an essential function of the job
[*=left]Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. This is an essential function of the job
[*=left]Strong sense of responsibility, organizational skills, and thorough attention to detail
[*=left]Ability to work independently and collaboratively, always maintaining professional demeanor and appearance
