About the North Carolina Museum of Art:
The North Carolina Museum of Art houses the art collections of the State of North Carolina. The permanent collection is comprised of nearly 4000 objects and spans a chronological range of approximately 5,000 years. The Museum offers changing national touring exhibitions, classes, lectures, family activities, films, and concerts.
In 2010 NCMA completed a major expansion and renovation project featuring a new 127,000-square-foot, light-filled gallery building designed to showcase the permanent collection. The Museum Park encompassing 164 acres of fields, woodlands, and creeks presents a unique setting for more than a dozen site-specific works of art by both international and local artists.
