The Museum of International Folk Art, a division of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, has a job opening for a registrar. This is a permanent full-time position with full benefits working for the State of New Mexico. The Museum has a collection of over 130,000 objects, is international in scope, and is located in Santa Fe, NM. MOIFA has a robust acquisition program and an active loan and exhibition schedule.

The mission of the Museum of International Folk Art is to enrich the human spirit by connecting people with the arts, traditions, and cultures of the world.

Position Summary: The Museum of International Folk Art requires a registrar who can work with the Collections Department in all logistics and legal matters involved with the acquisition, lending, and movement of works of art. The Museum desires an individual who can assure the collections are accurately documented, tracked, maintained, and accessible to the public; oversee and manage the Museum database and provide for the care of the collection in compliance with professional museum standards.

Desired Qualifications:

1. A Master's degree in Museum Studies, Art History, Anthropology, or related field

2. Five years registration or collection management experience in a museum
