Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of ArtAssistant/Associate Paintings ConservatorThe Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Assistant/Associate Paintings Conservator. The position reports directly to the Chief Conservator. The candidate will be involved in all conservation-related activities, such as treatment, examination, and technical research, and will engage with museum curators, registrars, and educators, as well as the general public.

Job RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a graduate degree in conservation from a recognized program, or have equivalent work experience, as well as strong oral and written communication skills, and an ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A particular expertise is not required, but the Wadsworth Atheneum’s outstanding encyclopedic collections range from old master paintings to modern and contemporary art, and present a variety of conservation opportunities and challenges. An interest in American and European decorative arts is a plus.
