Boise Art Museum Registrar

Boise Art Museum seeks a Registrar with a thorough understanding of collections principles and practices, collections management issues and trends, and the care and conservation of collections. The BAM Registrar maintains the Museum's art collections including collections database management, reports, loan agreements, gifts and acquisitions, catalogue information, packing, shipping and insurance. Minimum qualifications include three years experience in museum/art collection handling, cataloging and insurance; bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in art history or art - master's degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience); knowledge of museum methods, procedures and art handling, and competency with database management, desktop computer and spreadsheet software; experience in photographing objects and installations, and strong communication and organizational skills. Salary commensurate with experience.
