A successful and rapidly growing art storage company seeks a full-time truck driver to support property deliveries between our facility in the Bronx and client tri-state area locations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience working in New York City, and will be comfortable packing and moving a wide range of art objects. The driver will report to the Warehouse/Operations Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Cautious and safe operation of large straight truck in NYC and tri-state area.
- Communicate with warehouse facility throughout day to complete daily schedule.
- Proper handling, of art objects, fragile and artistic material, antique and high end furniture using the appropriate methods for packaging, loading & securing for safe transport.
- Preparation of paperwork including bills of lading, labeling, timesheets, and detailed condition reports with accompanying photos if necessary
- Installation/De Installation of artwork if necessary
-Assistance with storage facility on the receipt and release of property
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience driving w/a fine art services company or high end moving company.
- Good driving record and knowledge of NYC metro area
- Excellent communication skills, proficient in verbal and written English.
- Thorough knowledge & experience with industry standards for handling, packing & installing works of art/antiques and high end furniture.
- Ability to efficiently wrap/pack sensitive and valuable artworks/Antiques and high end furniture.
- Capacity to work comfortably on a truck as well as in a customer focused environment (gallery/museum/corporate office/private residence)
