Heather Gaudio Fine Art is a contemporary art gallery in New Canaan, CT offering five exhibitions a year featuring work by established and emerging artists.
HGFA is seeking a part-time art handler/preparator to assist with exhibition installations, home installations, and proper packaging and storage of artwork. Candidate must feel comfortable handling, wrapping and installing fine art of all kinds including but not limited to flat art and sculpture. The candidate should have basic skills using tools and art knowledge upon which we can build on. Experience handling and installing artwork is necessary.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Installing exhibitions from start to finish (De-installing current exhibition, patching and painting the walls, installing upcoming exhibition, adjusting lighting, moving sculpture, etc.)
* Accompanying gallery staff to client’s home to assist with handling artwork
* Installing in client’s homes and offices
* Preparing artwork for local transit
* Assist with moving and properly storing artwork
Salary: Commensurate with experience; hourly pay
Hours: Part-time, flexible. Approx. 8 hours a week, depending on exhibition schedule. Availability for an occasional Saturday a plus.
