Studio/Fabrication Assistant Position
Professional Artist
(New York NY)
Renowned professional artist seeks fabrication assistant to help with wood and metal construction in small, dynamic studio environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the fabrication of sculptures
- Organizing and completing repairs to sculptures
- Running errands and managing receipts for hardware and utilities
- Running general office errands
- Assisting studio manager & fabrication manager
- Cleaning and maintaining the studio space (vacuuming, mopping, dusting, etc)
- taking inventory of supplies
- occasional personal errands
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Art or relevant experience
- woodworking, painting and carpentry skills
- metalworking
- working with foam, resin, bonding materials, power tools, workshop equipment
- Knowledge of many art/construction-related materials
- Studio experience a plus
This is a freelance position and those with flexible day schedules will benefit. Varies from 2-5 days per week, depending on current work load. Please detail fabrication experience in cover letter.
