The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania seeks a director of exhibit experience to provide vision for, and lead the development, design and maintenance of, all exhibitions – permanent, temporary and traveling. This senior leadership opportunity at the museum comes at a time when a renewed ‘visitor-first’ vision for the galleries will transform the ways that the museum’s audiences connect with the world around them, to CMNH scientists and their research, to the museum’s unique collections, and to the contributions these resources make in understanding the past, present, and future of the natural world and human cultures. This role directly oversees and/or leads the development, design, prototyping, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and evaluation of the galleries, and works closely with the CMNH Director of Education, as well as the research staff of the museum as content experts and resources.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in museum studies, education or design, with a Master’s degree in museum studies or design preferred, as well as strong administrative experience in budget oversight, development of funding proposals and implementation of grant-funded projects, and strong skills in management of group goals and processes, with demonstrated ability to work with a wide-ranging team of scientists, designers, educators and technicians to come to consensus and implementation of a common exhibit vision.
Application materials will only be accepted online through the employer's website, http://www.carnegiemuseums.org/hr. EOE: Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh is committed to a diverse workforce, and to hiring veterans, individuals with disabilities, and all protected classes.
