The Fine Arts Services industry and the larger community of Fine Art packers and craters lost a pillar of the profession this last Friday when Jack Carr succumbed in his battle with lung cancer.
For those of you not lucky enough to have known or worked with Jack, you should know that early on, he played a key role in the development of the mega-company Fine Arts Express which ran shuttles across the continent ultimately opening a string of offices in major cities across the US. After the decline of FAE he went on to work for industry-giant Artex FAS.
Jack worked for many years as both head of crating and as head of special projects but more importantly he was a good friend and mentor to many throughout the years.
