PACCIN has a new online program for short presentations and industry chats, with plenty of Q&A for attendees to participate. PACCIN Chat #1 will be Friday, June 26th at 3 PM EST. Meg Colburt (Boxart) and Derek Jones (Atelier FAS), organizers of the Art Services Worker Safety Coalition, will give a presentation about new guidelines for health and safety protocols for art handlers in the Fine Art Services industry. This coalition represents art service companies, international shippers, and public institutions who met remotely this spring to develop workplace protocols in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. As we move forward to our re-entry to the workplace, we will be providing more presentations, interviews and videos on how museums and FAS companies are handling the transition.

Registration is free and requests should go to PACCINchats@gmail.com. Please reference the Chat # and date in your subject line. Registration is limited to 100 viewers. We will have a waiting room set up for each session. PACCIN Chats will happen every two weeks.

We are looking for Preparators, Art Handlers and other Collections Care professionals who are interested in providing presentations for future PACCIN Chats. Topics can be wide-ranging; we encourage presentations, interviews or discussions of interest within the industry, including packing and installation projects, professional development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion discussions and new health & safety standards for the workplace. PACCIN provides educational programs to the community, content should not be any form of promotion of any commercial services or products. If you haven’t presented before, no problem! PACCIN Chats are intended to be an easier, more accessible and less formal way than a traditional conference presentation to share your knowledge, discoveries or ideas with your peers.

Presentations are expected to be about ten minutes long. Send your proposals and questions to Jerry Smith, PACCIN Programs Committee Chair.
