This position is open to any current PACCIN Member. The term for the Vice Chair is two years, with opportunity for renewal. Deadline for applications: February 15, 2022.

PACCIN Programs Vice Chair position specific duties:
The Programs Vice Chair is a member of the Programs Committee and will assist the Program Chair in executing the various duties required to plan and carry out both virtual and in-person programs. The Vice Chair will not have the sole responsibility of executing Programs activities—this responsibility remains with the Chair, but will function as advisor and executive assistant. The Vice Chair will be expected to devote somewhat more time than a traditional Committee member to meetings and activities as a responsibility of the position. The Vice Chair will be asked to perform duties on a voluntary basis and will not be expected to perform duties that exceed their available time and abilities. The Chair and Vice Chair will be expected to communicate clearly in regards to activity expectations and time/ability restraints.
Activities that may be requested (activities may be coincident):

  • A Vice Chair may be asked to assist in organizing a specific part of a program, such as being the point person of contact for a vendor or contractor and organizing logistics for a particular activity. (An example would be to perhaps organize the lunch for an in-person program.)
  • A Vice Chair may be asked to be a regular and active participant in virtual programs, including the hosting or moderating of live virtual events, as well as be responsible for promoting participation from the art handling and collections care community.
  • The Vice Chair may be asked to attend a Board meeting and report on current Programs activities, and to take notes on Board input on these activities.
  • A Vice Chair may be encouraged to undertake the operational lead in a voluntary project, perhaps with the assistance of other Committee members. An example would be organizing speakers for a specific event, or organizing the logistics for an online webinar.
