Palm Springs Art Museum is seeking an experienced professional LEAD PREPARATOR to take on a wide variety of fine art handling and installation responsibilities.
B.A. in art, design, or related field; 3 to 5 years of professional art handling experience and 1 to 2 years supervisory experience required.
Experience in matting and framing, carpentry or mount-making required; computer skills and graphic design experience important; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
Responsibilities include: supervision of two preparators; oversee preparation of objects for exhibition; maintenance and inventories of installation equipment, tools, and supplies.
The museum is expanding with the addition of new sites in 2012 and 2013.
