Jerry Smith is a Senior Collections Management Technician at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and has an M.A. in Museum Studies from the University of Washington, and a B.A. in Anthropology from Colorado State University. He has worked as an art handler for Ship Art Denver, as Assistant Registrar at America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington, as a Collections Technician (Costume and Textiles department) at the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle, Washington, and as laboratory manager for a National Geographic-funded archaeological expedition in Honduras, among other positions. With training in field archaeology and a love for collections and registration work, Jerry enjoys working with any object that tells a story of human experience, with a special interest in the care, restoration and conservation of motor vehicles in museums. Jerry lives in Los Angeles with his partner Alison, two orange cats named Beverly and Martin, and a love for rally car racing.
