Characteristics
A non-archival packaging product made of layers of soft tissue like paper; sometimes having a kraft paper backing. Has good cushioning qualities, especially when used in layers. Hygroscopic qualities can help buffer rH changes. Inexpensive. Can be recycled with other paper products.

Application
Often use to wrap furniture where it easily wraps around chair legs and arms. Provides cushioning while still leaving objects easy to handle. An old fashioned material that still has its place - lately used in combination with stretch wrap.
